AI and the News Open Challenge Launches!
Just last month, we announced that the Ethics and Governance of AI Initiative would be hosting a $750,000 open call for fresh approaches to four pressing problems at the intersection of artificial intelligence and the field of news and information.
Today, we’re excited to announce that the challenge is officially open!
You can read the challenge brief and get access to the application here. The application will close at 11:59 p.m. ET on Oct. 12, 2018. We plan to announce the winners in March of 2019.
The challenge is open to anyone, anywhere. AI is already having a major impact on how we understand the world, though many communities are frequently left out of decisions around how this technology is developed and used. We’re hoping this challenge helps to elevate more voices to be part of the conversation.
